Makes Me Wanna Holler : No Comparison!

Oh make me wanna holler / throw up both my hands
Oh, make me wanna holler/They don’t understand

This morning, I was watching Fox 5 for updates about the wildfires in Southern California. The reporter, a white woman, was talking about how people are being forced from their homes and evacuated to area shelters.

She said,

“It’s almost like Hurricane Katrina. It’s like one big party down there.”

Oh really?

Talk about wanting to go through the television and snatch somebody up. To even make that kind of comparison is just unreal.

They got a sista’s pressure up early this morning.

  1. She didn’t really call it a party? I understand the comparison to the Hurricane, but to call either situation a “party” is just CRASS. Who gave her the mic and a stage? Grrrr……

You know, B. I considered briefly that I was overreacting with being pissed at the comparison to the hurricane. But then I was watching on the news – how quickly they have those people all set up…FEMA is already there “assessing the situation.” Bush has quickly declared a state of Federal emergency. The people have food and shelter already. One little boy on the news said “Everyone is so nice. It’s nice here.” While I am totally sympathetic to these horrible circumstances, these people aren’t being left for dead, begging and pleading for help. I just can’t compare the two.

I could say more. But I’ll leave this be!

  3. Roughly motivational place of duty you give rise to at this juncture. Seems to facilitate lots of relations enjoyed and benefited from it. Cheers and credit.
