You shouldn’t be surprised to go to a party and hear this music format though!!! You may not know me or have ever even heard of me, but this is the music format I’ve been Spinnin for the past 20+ years (on Wax… not a laptop)!! It’s hard to get love for this music format in DC!! Got made fun of, was called an old head stuck in time, etc… (not to mention having to deal with racism cause I’m not African American spinnin Hip-Hop in the 90′s) But I never stopped!

So although I appreciate & share your enthusiasm, True school DJ’s, weather members of the true school movement or not, are out there… (I’ve been doing my thing for 2 decades right here in DC!) You just gotta put the time in and look for us! And once you find us you gotta continue to support us so we’re not forced to play garbage in order to survive!!!

You don’t need to wait for DJ’s to come in from out of town or travel outside the metro area to catch classic & old School Hip-Hop Dj’s. And you don’t have to wait for special or annual events. Not Saying you shouldn’t support out of town dj’s but showing some love for the local cats would be much appreciated… Word Up!!

Much respect to 9th Wonder, Dj Cuzzin B, and all other True DJ’s keeping the culture and music of our generation alive!!
