however, since i am so longwinded, i think i am going to take on a policy of only responding to comments that elicit an immediate response from me. new commenters i will always respond to of course. but if i agree or have nothing to add to what you say, they i won’t likely comment back. nothing personal. just a time saving technique i’m considering. most people don’t come back and look at your response anyway i’m discovering. i applaud ya’ll folks who have fifty eleben commenters a day and respond to them all!

but i am about to become a hater if she skips over my comment again.

now, let’s be clear. there is absolutely NO hateration going on here. You may be new to this site so you may not know that I am an only child and was spoiled as well growing up. I got the best of everything as well in part because my mother grew up with NOTHING.

Now the price of admission was WAY above average grades, permanent stay on the honor roll, all kinds of distinguished student awards and scholarship offers when I graduated, all kinds of leadership positions in school…the list goes on. I didn’t have a sense of entitlement to these things. I worked hard, gave my mother what she wanted, and I was rewarded for it. I was blessed as your kids appear to be. And I’ll likely do the same for my kids – if they give me what I want and don’t act like they are entitled to such things. But again, that’s on me to raise them that way.

If you would have been there on the train to hear this conversation, you would see where I was coming from. This girl felt she was ENTITLED to these things. She didn’t want to have what everybody else had because she was oh so different than her classmates. I didn’t hear her father say anything about her doing anything to deserve it. If he felt she deserved it because she was excelling in school or whatever else, he would not have given her that lecture about how he only had one phone in the house, etc. She was a brat and he knew it.

Now I do have to say that I didn’t mean for it to come across that I think brats and bad ass kids were the norm. I spoke of my goddaughter in another post and she is definitely not like that! I was just disgusted with that girl’s attitude when I wrote the post so that came through. Not to mention, I’ve just written so much on here about kids that are horribly abused and even killed by their parents before they even get a chance at life. These kids need to just be glad they have parents that love them and are sodomizing, starving, or putting their hands on hot stoves.
